Phoenixville Shows Up

Privacy, in plain English.

Last updated June 12, 2026

Shows Up is a free community project, not a business that runs on your data. We collect the few things we need to connect you with local organizations, and nothing we don’t. We don’t sell your information, we don’t run ads, and we don’t track you around the web. This page spells out exactly what that means.

What we collect

Your email address, when you sign in. We use one-time sign-in links (or Google / Apple sign-in) instead of passwords, so your email is how we know it’s you.

Your name and phone number, only if you add them to your profile or include them when you apply for a role. Phone is optional.

Your quiz answers, if you take the matching quiz: the causes, skills, availability, and notes you enter so we can suggest roles that fit. You can retake the quiz any time, which overwrites your previous answers.

Your applications: the message and details you submit when you apply for a role through the site.

We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. The only cookie we set keeps you signed in.

Who it’s shared with

The organization you apply to. When you apply for a role, your name, email, and the details you entered are emailed to that organization so they can follow up with you. That’s the whole point of applying. But it means your information leaves our hands and goes to them. We don’t control what an organization does with an application it receives.

A few service providers who run the plumbing. We use trusted companies to operate the site, and they only ever see what they need to do their job:

  • Supabase: secure database and sign-in.
  • Resend: delivers your application emails to organizations.
  • OpenRouter / Anthropic: powers the matching quiz. Your quiz answers are sent to the AI model to generate suggestions; they are not used to train it.
  • Vercel: hosts the website.

We will never sell or rent your information, and we won’t share it with anyone else except where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and applications for as long as your account is active, so you can see what you’ve applied to. Ask us to delete your account and we’ll remove your profile, quiz answers, and application records from our systems. Note that emails already delivered to an organization can’t be recalled. Those live in that organization’s inbox.

Your choices

You can view and update your profile any time, retake or clear your quiz, and ask us for a copy of your data or to delete your account entirely. Just email alex@spktr.ai and a human (me) will take care of it.

Kids

Some roles are open to younger volunteers, and the matching quiz asks your age bracket so we don’t suggest roles you’re too young for. This site isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has signed up, email us and we’ll remove the account.

Changes to this page

If we change how any of this works, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. Questions about any of it? Email alex@spktr.ai.
