Terms, in plain English.

It’s a directory: we gather volunteer opportunities from organizations’ own public pages, organize them, and help you find and reach out to them. A person reviews each listing against its source before it appears.

It is notthe Borough of Phoenixville, an employer, or a party to anything you arrange with an organization. The organizations listed here are independent. We don’t run them, speak for them, or control how they operate. We’re the introduction, not the relationship.

You sign in with a one-time email link or with Google or Apple. Keep access to your email and accounts secure. Anyone who can get into them can get into your Shows Up account. Use real, accurate information about yourself, and don’t sign up on someone else’s behalf without their okay.

When you apply, we pass the details you enter to the organization so they can follow up. Be truthful in what you submit. What happens next (whether they reply, accept you, or follow through) is up to them, not us. (See our Privacy policy for exactly what data is shared.)

This is the important part. We don’t vet, endorse, employ, or background-check the organizations or the people who use this site, and we don’t supervise any volunteering that results from it. Use your own judgment: confirm details directly with the organization, and decide for yourself whether an opportunity is right and safe for you. Any volunteering, agreement, or interaction you enter into is between you and that organization, at your own risk.

We work hard to keep listings accurate and remove stale ones, but we can’t guarantee that every detail is current or correct. Pages change and roles fill up. The site is provided “as is,” and we may add, change, or remove listings, features, or the whole site at any time. Treat what you find here as a helpful starting point, then verify with the organization.

Please don’t:

• submit false applications, spam, or harass organizations or other people;
• scrape, copy, or republish the directory in bulk;
• impersonate someone else or misrepresent who you are;
• try to break, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the site.

We can suspend or remove any account or listing that abuses the site or these terms.

Listing information is drawn from each organization’s own public pages and belongs to them. The Shows Up name, logo, design, and original writing are ours. Please don’t reuse them in a way that implies we endorse or are affiliated with you. Organizations can claim, correct, or remove their own listing any time by emailing alex@spktr.ai.

Shows Up is a free service offered in good faith by a neighbor, not a company. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we aren’t liable for any loss or harm arising from your use of the site, from inaccurate or missing listings, or from your dealings with any organization you find here. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t legally be limited.

If we change these terms, we’ll update this page and the date at the top; continuing to use the site means you accept the update. These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Questions? Email alex@spktr.ai.
